The Begining of Greater Mount Carmel Deliverance Ministries
It was in April of 1981 when the Lord led Elder Harold Frasier Sr. to begin the ministry of Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church. The first service was held in the living room of Sister Grace Dance with only eight adults and a few children in attendance. From that humble beginning, God led Pastor Frasier to look for a building. While looking God said to him, “Don’t look to rent, look to BUY”. In obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit, God led Pastor Frasier to the present location, 215 Schenectady Avenue. After inquiring about the building with the owner, Bishop Robert Ward, he was told that money was already offered for the location. After talking and sharing his testimony with Bishop Ward and discovering that they both had come from the ministry of the late Apostle Arturo Skinner, Bishop Ward agreed to sell the building to Pastor Frasier.
Pastor Frasier moved by faith and signed the agreement to purchase the building, even though he did not have all the funds for closing at that moment. God spoke to Pastor Frasier and said, “TRUST ME.” Pastor Frasier did just that. As God would have it, Bishop Ward did not have all the papers to go to closing. God opened the door for Pastor Frasier and the members of Mt. Carmel to secure additional funds for closing. During this time, God in His infinite mercy, touched Bishop Ward’s heart to allow Pastor Frasier to move into the church and pay a monthly fee until he could secure the proper papers. Isn’t that just like God?
In May of 1983 both Bishop Ward and Pastor Frasier were ready to go to closing. Due to Pastor Harold Frasier Sr.’s faithfulness to the divine call, God exalted him and the ministry of Mt. Carmel. After several years the name was changed from Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church to that of Greater Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church because God said, “a GREATER work ministry I am elevating this church to”. God gave Pastor Frasier a vision of a redesigned edifice and in January of 1996 he began to put his carpentry skills to work in the house of God by tearing down old walls and putting up new ones.
In September of 1996, the vision had come to pass and Pastor Frasier had successfully completed the renovation of the sanctuary in which we presently worship. In the year of his desired call of Bishop, he received the ultimate call to enter into the eternal glory of the Lord.
On November 25th, 2001 God called Bishop Frasier from his unwearied labor in the Kingdom and has since elevated his wife, Dr. Carolyn Frasier, to the offices of Elder and Pastor. God has graced her with the mantle to lead this ministry to its next dimension in God, knowing that as the words of the late visionary say, “ARISE! THE WORD OF GOD IS TAKING US WHERE WE HAVE NOT BEEN BEFORE!”
